Topic Description:

Business analysis is critical to the success of projects and other initiatives in any organization, yet the business analyst role is often poorly understood. In addition, project managers often fill the BA role unknowingly, which may result in unsatisfactory outcomes for BA activities, disappointed stakeholders, project misalignment with business goals, and organizational waste.

In this presentation, the role of the business analyst is explored as it compares to the role of the project manager. Project managers will recognize where the lines between their BA and PM work are often blurred and how clarity can help their projects. PMs will learn why it’s essential to know what BAs do and how to increase awareness as to when they are filling the BA role. PMs will appreciate how they can be better in their PM role by better understanding the BA role.
