CCBA Chapter Study Group

The IIBA Southeast Michigan (SEMI) Chapter runs a CCBA Certification Study Group in September each year.  Please join us for our next study group.  The study group is an English based webinar based and open to any IIBA member in good standing.

Information below is provided to illustrate how our Study Groups typically operate.  Each study group is organized by our President or "VP of Education" and operated by, and for, the participants.

The IIBA Southeast Michigan Chapter CCBA study group will assist you in preparing for the IIBA CCBA certification exam, recognizing the role of a business analyst in each of the BABOK® knowledge areas, and learning from the experience of other study group members how to apply best practices in real-world work environments.

Who Should Attend

  • The business analyst who is preparing for the CCBA certification exam.  Participation in the Chapter sponsored study group will satisfy the Certification Application requirement of 21 hours of Professional Development.
  • Anyone who is interested in getting exposure to the BABOK®

A meeting notice will be sent with teleconference information to Study Group participants.

System Requirements
You will need a computer with Internet access and a headset with headphones and a microphone that can connect to your computer or to a telephone. You CANNOT use speakerphone or any type of audio where the voices of others in the study group can be heard through your microphone. It degrades the audio quality for the entire study group and you will be muted or disconnected.

Review and discussion of each knowledge area, technique, and core competencies
Real sample questions for each chapter

The materials the study group will be using is the BABOK® Guide v3. Access to a free downloadable copy is a benefit of IIBA membership and is available on the IIBA website.  Presentation material for the Study Group is also available on the IIBA website.   Participants are responsible for purchasing their own study materials.

All the sessions will be facilitated by one of the study group participants. The VP of Professional Development will provide the study group participants with the location on the IIBA website that outline the key points of each BABOK® section.

All study group participants are expected to have read the material before the meeting and be prepared to contribute to the discussion. Study group participants will find that the sections they facilitate will be the sections they learn the most thoroughly, which will prepare them well for the exam.  The VP of Professional Development will invite a CBAP® to a future session to respond to questions and add insight from their experience and expertise
